Best Entry Level DSLR?

What is the best entry level dslr? I have a little “business” on the side I guess you could say, people hire me for a small price to take pictures of them. I have done parties and a few “photo shoots” .( I do not consider my self a professional photographer) Right now I’m using the Canon Power Shot SX20, I feel I have used it to it’s full potential and would like to advanced to the next level.I would love to get the Canon EOS 5D Mark II but that’s to advanced for me. Any info and reviews would be helpful.

If you can run a little side business with your point and shoot camera, then that should tell you that it is the photographer that is important, not the camera.

Ergo, it should not matter what dSLR you get. Plus,anything would be better than what you have right now.

If you like Canons, then go for a canon entry level dSLR. Otherwise, try Pentax, Nikon, Sony, or Olympus.
