i recently purchased a canon digital camera, how long shud i charge my bettery before first use?

ofcourse it has a green light that says its fully charged. what i mean is, before the first use..dont you guys ever heard people having to charge cellphone batteries for atleast 7hrs even though the green is light..i was just making sure if its the same with cameras..pssh

Canon PowerShot A720IS v A710?
I'm checking out these cameras to buy. Consumer Reports had the A710 highly rated but it's an 'older' model. What I'm wondering is why it's listed in Amazon at 399 and the A720 around 199..... What features does the A710 have that warrant the price increase.
And, any suggestions for point-and-shoot digital cameras other than these ones in the price range?

I have a Canon Powershot A530 and it won't turn on.?
I bought a Canon Powershot A530 digital camera and ever since I first had it, it hasn't been able to turn on. I have used multiple different batteries and different memory cards and it still won't turn on. I don't know if there are any tricks to get it to come on? I got another camera but I lost it, so the broken one is the only one I have, and I really want it to work! Any thoughts?

the best type of batteries for a canon A590 digital camera?
it takes double A's. i want to buy the Sony BCG-34HRMF4 Battery Charger, but one review on amazon said it didn't work with that kind of canon camera. what is the best kind of battery charger i can get then? and does it come with batteries? someone please help! and link me to where i can buy them online! this is so frustrating! all i want is a simple battery charger, and to know what kind of batteries to use. yet i'm reading so many bad online reviews that i'm afraid i'll end up buying a crap charger! this is supposed to be easy and simple. someone please help.
